This morning marks a monumental day in British History, Prince Harry who is 5th in line to the throne has announced his engagement to American actress Meghan Markle.
An official statement from Clarence House, the Prince of Wales, and the Duchess of Cornwals official residence said ''the wedding will take place in spring 2018. Further details about the wedding will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Ms Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family.''
At Emlyn hotel we love all things weddings, and can think of nothing more exciting than a Royal wedding on the cards.
Which ring did Prince Harry propose with?
Prince Harry famously claimed his mothers engagement ring, however this was then given to Prince William for his engagement to the Duchess of Cambridge. So we think he has probably had a statement piece of jewelery of his mothers re-desgned into an engagement ring.
What will Meghan be called?
From the moment they are pronounced man and wife, Ms Markle will instantly become ''Her Royal Highness Princess Henry of Wales'' you ask why not Princess Meghan? She will not receive this title because she is not of Royal Blood.
What colour schemes will she go for?
Most Royal weddings have an eir of oppulance and etravegance, so we can expect to see large floral bouquets. Because this is not Ms. Markles first wedding it is difficult to tell what they will go for. But for any wedding advice our wedding co-ordinators are on hand to give you any advice you may need.
Where will the wedding take place?
As much as we would love to have them married at Emlyn Hotel it is unlikely. It will most likely be of three places Westminster Abbey where Harry's Brother tied the knot to the Duchess of Cambridge, St Pauls Cathedral where his mother wed Prince Charles or for a more low key affair and a slight wild card the chapel at Windsor Castle. But you never know - Prince Harry has always been the wild child!
Why are we talking about it so much?
Well, at Emlyn Hotel we LOVE weddings, and there is nothing more fun than a Royal Wedding to renew the inspirations and get some creative juices flowing. We also have some Spring 2018 dates available so if you want to get married around the same time do get in touch!
